Morocco on the Road: A Journey Through Imperial Cities, Desert, and Natural Wonders

What to See in Morocco? Marrakech, Fès, Chefchaouen, and the Sahara: Tips and Secrets Among Medinas, Kasbahs, and Moroccan Dunes.

What to See and Do in Morocco? Here Are the Must-Visit Stops

Morocco is a land of breathtaking contrasts, where Arab culture intertwines with Berber, French, and Spanish influences. Traveling here means getting lost in the labyrinths of medinas, sleeping under the stars in the desert, and immersing yourself in landscapes that seem straight out of a dream.

If you're looking for an authentic experience, the tour "Morocco: On the Road from the Imperial Cities to the Sahara Desert" is the perfect adventure for you.

Discover what to see, what to do, and why this itinerary is so special.

In the meantime, here’s the link to my trip: https://www.weroad.it/viaggi/marocco-road-sahara-citta-weroadx

1. Marrakech: The Beating Heart of Morocco
Marrakech, the "Red City," is the perfect starting point for exploring Morocco. Walking through the famous Jemaa el-Fna Square means diving into a surreal atmosphere filled with sounds, scents, and colors. Don't miss the Bahia Palace, the Majorelle Gardens, and the majestic Ben Youssef Madrasa.

2. Fès: The City of a Thousand Alleys
Fès is home to one of the most authentic and ancient medinas in the world. Here, you can visit the legendary Chouara Tanneries, the Al-Qarawiyyin Mosque and University (the oldest in the world), and get lost in the maze of alleyways that hold centuries of history.

3. Chefchaouen: The Blue Pearl of Morocco
Perched in the Rif Mountains, Chefchaouen is a postcard-perfect town with its blue-painted houses. It’s an ideal place to relax, take stunning photos, and experience the slow-paced Moroccan lifestyle.

4. The Sahara Desert and Merzouga
A trip to Morocco wouldn’t be complete without an excursion to the Sahara Desert. On the Morocco: On the Road tour, you can experience the thrill of a camel trek across the Erg Chebbi dunes and spend a night in a Berber tent camp under an incredible starry sky.

5. Todra Gorges and the Draa Valley
The Todra Gorges offer breathtaking scenery, with rock walls towering over 300 meters (1,000 feet) high. The Draa Valley, on the other hand, is a lush paradise filled with palm groves and ancient kasbahs.

6. Ouarzazate and Ait Ben Haddou: The Morocco of Films
Known as the "Hollywood of the Desert," Ouarzazate is home to Atlas Studios, where epic films like Gladiator and Game of Thrones were filmed. Not far away is Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage kasbah, perfect for a journey back in time.

7. Rabat, Meknès, and Volubilis: Between History and Archaeology
Rabat, the capital, enchants visitors with its Kasbah of the Udayas and Hassan Tower. Meknès, once an imperial city, impresses with its spectacular Bab Mansour gate. Finally, Volubilis offers incredibly well-preserved Roman ruins.

When to Visit Morocco?
You can visit Morocco any time of the year, but the best seasons are spring (March-May) and autumn (September-November) when the weather is pleasant and temperatures are moderate. Summer can be hot, especially in the desert, but since it’s a dry heat, it remains bearable.
